sticky sun honeys
soft jelled shadows; leaves cool deep
light balances dark.

vines wilting green
burgundy roses ferment
claret summer wine

succulent green pods//
red berries feed the hungry
bluebird of my soul.

sun viridescent
sings brilliance//melts shadowed roots
disclosing tangles.

lilacs blush to green
fragrance fades with memory
hushed farewell to spring.
cinders of roses,
grayed rags of pink blossoms cling
to stark, scarecrow trees.

grass sings with green tongues
psalms of sun swell rolling hills
earth yearns to kiss sky.

trees leap arrow-straight
knit earth to heaven; I stretch
eager reaching hands.
