The patchwork quilt of my life stitches velvet to corduroy, linen to gabardine
In a crazy mesh of incongruent textures
And yet
The kaleidoscopic interlace of mismatched colors:
Seashell pink, indigo, olive green (no combination I would wear in public)
Speaks patterns of mutation as I glint a hint of promise
Of what I might become.
