White fire blazes,
Fresh snow-flames glitter
Like sun-kissed diamonds
In endless chiaroscuro of light and dark
Moon-silver glimmers
Mercurial to patch thick
Pools of liquid night.
When earth shrugs off the twilit cold,
Dawn gilds winter fields.
Threads light through capillary trees,
Connects earth to sky,
And my heart to all that is.
